Pagulayan rules in Singapore Asian Tour

Alex Pagulayan from the Philippines won the Singapore leg of the Guinness Asian 9-ball Tour.
In the final he defeated countryman Dennis Orcollo 11-6.
Chang received $15,000 for the win. Orcollo got $6,000 for second place.
The Taiwanese pair of Ching-shun Yang and Chia-ching Wu shared third place.

Russell takes ninth world title in English Billiards

Mike Russell from England won the 2008 World Billiards Championship.
2006 champion Geet Sethi from India took silver after losing 1821-1342 in the final. Last year’s runner-up Chris Shutt (England) and David Causier (England) finished joint third.

Forthomme cruises to victory in Sang Lee International Open

Roland Forthomme from Belgium won the Sang Lee International Open.
In the all-Belgian final Forthomme defeated two-time defending champion Frédéric Caudron 50-41. Sweden’s Torbjörn Blomdahl beat Martin Horn (Germany) to claim third place.
Forthomme received $25,000 for the win. Caudron earned $15,000 and Blomdahl $12,000.

Gareth Potts (England) and Lynette Horsburgh (Scotland) came out on top in the Foster’s World Eightball Pool Championships.
Potts beat Jason Twist (England) 11-4 in the men’s final. In the semi-finals they both won in deciding games, against Adam Davis and Gareth Hibbott (both England) respectively.

Jaspers wins Porto World Cup

Dick Jaspers from Netherlands won the three cushion World Cup event in Porto, Portugal.
In the final he defeated Daniel Sanchez (Spain) 3-1 (10-15, 15-1, 15-14, 15-5).
Tying for third were defending champion Torbjörn Blomdahl (Sweden) and Kyung-Roul Kim from South Korea. That’s a repeat of their positions in the previous World Cup event, in Sluiskil.
